Most climbers notice immediate improvements from these coaching sessions. Each session talks you through key stages and drills to help you improve, building the new techniques into your climbing so you can keep mastering them once the coaching is finished. Using applications such as Coach’s Eye analysis can be quickly shared so you can remind yourself of the lessons and keep applying them.
A key part of every coaching session, looking at how you approach a route or boulder. After technique this is where the biggest improvements are often made. You’d be amazed how many people read routes and boulders wrong and make them harder then they should be.
The coach will look at if you’re climbing efficiently by reading the route correctly. How you approach onsighting routes or flashing boulder problems. Or maximising your redpoint attempt through a structured approach.
This is applicable for all climbers, whether just trying to have fun down the wall, or onsighting and redpointing at your limit. Key areas that are also covered are: pace, clipping and resting. The session can include fear of falling, advanced route reading for competitions or outside, as well as breathing and relaxation methods.
A must if you’re trying to take your climbing to the next level. We offer detailed perodized training programs to individual training sessions. From developing the fitness to climb your routes, to the individual strengths and motilities to help you progress. Using the latest climbing research and strength and conditioning developments.
Training also provides key understanding of posture, for finger board training and campus training so you can maximise the training with minimum risk of injury. Our coaches are trained in injury management and prevention so you can be assured of the best care!

A 12 week periodised training program. We currently have two on offer. The first for the beginner route climber operating in the fr5 to fr6b grade range. The other for the intermediate climber operating in the fr6b to fr7a range. The Lattice assessment gives a detailed breakdown of your strength’s and weaknesses. The assessment covers – Finger strength, Aerobic Power and anaerobic function, Aerobic Capacity, Movement economy and climbing pace and Climbing specific muscle function. Giving you a complete breakdown of where you are at at what you need to work on.
Our nearest climbing centre for Lattice Assessment is the brand new Oakwood Climbing Centre in Wokingham.
Prices start at £100 for a full assessment and £130 including training program to work those weaknesses, assessments take an hour and a half to two hours and come with a detailed report.
Onsight Coaching now offers 3 profiling tests to help you better understand your climbing. From an Aerobic / Anerobic profiling test, fingers strength, to Strength, Stability, Mobility and flexibility tests.
